Professional Training: Ethics and Self Care

 

Our ethical codes of conduct that help us preserve boundaries, and our professional values. In this training workshop, action methods help ethics come alive as we apply standard information to everyday aspects of our professional lives. There will be opportunities to bring case studies forward, and we will also examine the crucial need for self care and explore how we can make genuine changes that support our professional and personal roles. Karen Carnabucci, MSS, LCSW, TEP, will lead this workshop from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  This program includes the four hours of ethics programming needed for social workers and others for recertification or re-licensure. You will learn:

 

§         How to evaluate your “relationship” with your code of ethics.

§         How to strengthen your ability to discuss issues relating to ethics and boundaries, dual and multiple relationships and other important issues.

§         A three-step model for exploring ethical questions.

 

Special bonus: Trainees will have the opportunity to make appointments for massage, Reiki and bodywork with bodywork practitioners at Lake House before or after the training at a 15 percent discount.

Karen Carnabucci, MSS, LCSW, TEP, will lead this workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, with four continuing education hours and psychodrama credits. You will learn:

Healing & Spiritual Practices of Hawaii’s Medical Kahuna

 

Staying true to the old ways, you can begin your training in the full shamanic practices of the Medical Kahuna in the Lineage of Ku as it has been shared for centuries through the family generations of a native Hawaiian Kahuna.  This training on Thursday from 7 to 9:30 p.m.; and Friday Through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. is presented with full authorization and the blessings of the elders of this lineage.

 

The Hawaiian Elemental Healing Initial Level Training offers the foundational skills and understandings at the core of the full healing and spiritual practices of Hawaii’s Medical Kahuna.  Learn to stand in the center of your soul and work in harmony with the forces around you, instead of fighting against them. This is an authentic native Hawaiian family tradition of healing, culture, and spirituality.  It is presented through the Reiki Council at the Lake House Health & Learning Center in association with Ke Ala Kahiko Hawaiian Foundation. Instructor is Rick Pono’uhaneho’okuakua Vrenios, Kahu O Mana.

A Morning Of Asian Exercise

 

Joachim Mayer, certified instructor of Kundalini Yoga, tai chi chuan and qigong, will offer an overview of the benefits of various Asian modalities from 9 a.m. to noon, with participants joining in the demonstration as they wish; Tea and light refreshments after the program. Dollmaking As A Healing Art

 

Learn to make a doll that represents your dreams and aspirations in this personal growth program from 9 a.m. to noon, led by Karen Carnabucci, MSS, LCSW, TEP.
